WILL YOU SPONSOR ME, TO RAISE MONEY FOR URBAN SAINTS?On Tuesday 9th December, I (and my travelling buddy, Liam) will be embarking on an epic journey... from one edge of the map to another... the Tube map, that is! I will be leaving Amersham Underground station around 5am, hoping to make it to Heathrow Terminal 5's Underground station before the last train around 12:30am, having visited or passed through EVERY SINGLE STATION (except the DLR) on the Underground Map. I'm only allowed to use the Tube, my own two legs and other forms of public transport. Apparently, the world record time for this is around 17 hours so it gives you some idea of how long this is going to take!! I will probably see very little daylight during this epic voyage and will have to negotiate both rush hours too during the 19-ish hours I have between the first and last trains.
I have my proposed route planned out and I'll be taking plenty of photos and video to make the journey - now it is a question of getting the financial backing to make this quest worthwhile. Will you, even in these tough financial times, be prepared to back me in my challenge? Even a humble fiver or a £10 note can really make a difference...
As part of my role with Urban Saints, I take responsibility for raising much-needed funds for the movement. They might go to help develop and maintain the Energize resourcing package or to support the development of our music and media academies. It could go to help young people who can't afford it, to go on our holidays or to help us organise mission trips both in this country and around the world. It might go towards helping establish cutting edge leadership training or networking of volunteers to make them feel supported in their roles. But whatever it goes towards, every bit of it helps to develop character, life skills and talents in the rising generations as they go on their OWN epic faith journey!
Ok, here's what to do. If you are feeling really kind and generous and would be prepared to sponsor me to spend up to 19 hours in a Tube, please leave your pledge here (as a 'comment') with your name, how you'd prefer to be contacted* and whether you are able to Gift Aid your donation. Every little helps and all will go towards the development and resourcing of youth and children's groups, holidays and activities all over the UK and further afield. Many thanks![* I suggest that you don't leave personal information like your address or your phone number but rather tell me you'd prefer I contact you via your Facebook page or on an email address. If you are a tax payer and able to Gift Aid, I will need your address eventually but don't require you to post it online like this!]
