What’s my role…It has been several years in the making but now, Media Academy is a reality! Last October, 11 young people spent a week working together on a media project before presenting it on the final night. It was an amazing thing to be part of and I’ve never ever seen a group of young people work so hard and so well together. Media Academy is one of the ways that we are looking to equip young people who are passionate about visual media with the necessary skills and the godly character to be truly effective in their gifting and calling. We have already seen a few of these young people go on to help us in our Urban Saints Media work and others go on to pursue their calling elsewhere. Media Academy 2009 runs again this October half term!
Elsewhere in Urban Saints
Last summer, 7 teams of young people hit the UK as part of Hope 08, running Re:Act family fun days and outdoor services all over England and Wales. Communities were impacted, people were healed and young people’s lives were turned around. The Re:Act teams came away with memories of how God used them and worked through them in ways they could never have expected! This summer we are back to one Re:Act team as usual. However, we fully expect to see more of the same. Check out www.urbansaints.org/pages/4005/React.htm for more information…
How can you help?
Have you ever considered being a volunteer with Urban Saints? You don’t have to be a youth or children’s work expert – all you have to be is willing and ready for anything! There are so many ways to help – at events, on exhibition stands, making videos, cooking, writing, giving out refreshments, doing admin or helping run a group. All you need is a passion to see young people reach their full, God-given potential! Apply Here…!
